Every weld, test and certificate on the job, one question away.

Like ChatGPT — but it only answers from your own records: design calculations, WPSs, NDT reports, hydrotest records, material certificates. Every answer shows the page. If it isn't in your files, it says so.

For quality, welding and engineering teams at UK pressure vessel, tank and boiler makers · 14-day free trial · No credit card · From $39/month

Record-keeping noteUnder the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016, technical documentation has to be kept for ten years after the equipment is placed on the market — and questions about it come back years later. What is searchable here is the written part of that file: calculations, procedures, reports, certificates and correspondence. Not the drawings.Source: HPi Verification Services, PE(S)R 2016; TÜV Rheinland, PE(S)R 2016 (checked 2026-09-23)

AnswersFrom your own files, cited
WHAT DID WE TEST AT?
You ask
What hydrotest pressure and hold time are recorded for job 4471?
You get
The recorded test pressure, hold time and result, quoted from the test record and cited.
From
Hydrotest and inspection records
WHICH PROCEDURE?
You ask
Which WPS was used on the shell longitudinal seams of vessel V-102?
You get
The WPS named in the job's weld records, with its reference and the passage that names it.
From
Weld records, WPSs and PQRs
WHAT DID NDT FIND?
You ask
What does the NDT report say about the nozzle welds on V-102?
You get
The findings and acceptance statement for those welds, quoted from the report.
From
NDT reports (RT, UT, MT, PT)
NOBODY REMEMBERS WHY
You ask
The engineer who signed off this design has left. What did they record about the calculation?
You get
The design record or calculation sheet passage, cited to it. It reads what was filed — it cannot reconstruct reasoning nobody wrote down.
From
Design records, calculation sheets, handover notes

Where the hours go

The paperwork is built once, then searched for years
Design calculations, WPSs, NDT reports, hydrotest records, material certificates and approved-body correspondence are assembled per vessel. Answering a question later means reopening all of it.
Ten years is a long time to remember where things are
The people who built the file move on. The documents stay, and so do the questions — from customers, inspectors and your own engineers.
What was agreed is buried in letters
Concessions and clarifications agreed with the approved or notified body sit in correspondence that nobody indexes.

What happens to your questions

Four kinds of question, and exactly what it does with each — including the one it can't handle yet.

What it won't do, and what it does instead

What it will not do, what happens instead, and where each one is a limit of document search in general rather than of this product.

It won't tell you which revision is current
If both revisions are in the workspace, you can be handed the superseded one — and the citation will look right, because that document is real. Revision tracking is on the roadmap. Until it ships: every answer names the document and page, so you are checking a named file rather than trusting a paragraph, and keeping one current revision in the workspace — superseded ones in a separate folder — makes the cited one the current one.
Also true ofNothing consumer-grade does this either. ChatGPT has no way of knowing which of two files you uploaded supersedes the other, and your shared drive will hand you a superseded WPS or ITP without comment. What you get here is the document and page behind every answer, so a superseded file is visible instead of silent.
It won't promise you a complete list
Ask for every vessel built from a particular material batch and what comes back is the most relevant passages, not a guaranteed complete set — treat it as a starting point, not a final count. It says so rather than handing you a short list that reads like the whole one. Ask about a single job, certificate or product and it answers from the passages that match, with the page.
Also true ofEvery search you already use works this way: ChatGPT answers from what it found, and so does the search box on your shared drive. Neither one warns you that the list may be short.
It hasn't been tested on your kind of documents yet
Our published tests cover legal contracts, FDA drug labels and SEC filings, not pressure-equipment records. Try it on your own files during the trial and check the cited pages — that is the only test that counts for you.
Also true ofWe have not found a chatbot that publishes how it performs on documents like yours. Ours are public, including the hard suites where we score badly — which is why we can tell you what has not been tested yet.
Scanned certificates are the weak spot
Scanned certificates are read by OCR, and a table in a scan can come back imperfect. Every answer names the page it came from, so confirming a value against the original takes seconds — the same check you would do before quoting it to an auditor.
Also true ofOCR misreads are universal, ChatGPT included. The difference is what happens next: a misread number here arrives with the page it was read from, so it can be caught.
It doesn't read drawings
Text and tables are read, including scanned certificates and the notes, title-block text and dimension text on a drawing sheet. The geometry is not — so it will not tell you what a detail connects to, or which line runs where on a weld map.
Also true ofA general chatbot will happily describe a drawing you upload to it. That description is produced from the picture, not read from your job file, and it is not something you can put in front of an inspector.
